You will be moved to our recovery room, where you will undergo close observation by the anesthesiologist and our recovery room nurses. Your doctor will wish to talk with a family member/friend after your surgery, therefore it is important for this person to remain in the building.
Your surgeon will provide post-operative instructions and the center will provide a written summary of these instructions prior to your discharge.
If you had anesthesia and/or pain medications, you will need a responsible adult to drive you home and stay with you the first 24 hours after surgery.
The following activities will need to be postponed following the first 24 hours after surgery:
- driving, operating equipment
- signing important papers
- making important decisions
- drinking alcoholic beverages
